Gareth Jones - July 2018
Weather forecasters have predicted a hot July, so I'm bringing you a super sizzling scorching Summer Special to celebrate. There are new Summer singles from Gurr and Helen Love, and Dandelion Radio's very own Beatbox Saboteurs give us a thumping take on the music hall classic 'I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside'. There are two girl group surfing songs by Kay Bell & The Tuffs and The Supremes for 'Secret Songs from the Sixties', plus in keeping with the theme, there's a surf guitar track and a recent single by Cuddly Shark!
Also you'll hear 4 cover versions of Summer classics including 14 Iced Bears tackling 'Summer Nights' from Grease and Guitar Wolf turning 'Summertime Blues' into a racket. Plus two Summer tracks for 'Soundtracks of the Strange' including a cut from 'The Wicker Man' soundtrack by Paul Giovanni & Magnet.
July is also a big month for sport, so we've two unofficial England World Cup singles and a triple set of Wimbledon-related tracks. You'll hear the famous Wimbledon theme tune given a remix by Paul Hartnoll of Orbital, a rap/dance song dedicated to Wimbledon by Rich White Ladies and an ode to tennis and love courtesy of Simon Love.
All this plus a heap of non-Summer songs too including two new French releases from Juniore and Watoo Watoo and to finish the show, a rather offensive ode to Donald Trump!

Mark Cunliffe - July 2018
This is a sign I'm getting on a bit I guess but are we really in July all ready? Sheesh..... Loads of great music so far this year though so every cloud?
This month we have more from The Sueves and Mr Traumatik is spittin' over some fab D&B. Rootless & Atari Hanzo have created some wonderful footwork which I guess if fitting seeing as we are in the midst of the World Cup. Part Chimp has a Part Chimp classic but a fab live version of it.
Also, Tipica Trova are on the money with a proper party vibe.
Listen in to see what it is all about???

Mark Whitby - July 2018
This month's slightly truncated show makes up for the slight decrease in quantity with a hell of a lot of quality. The Socialist returns with a new exclusive session and there are tracks from new albums by Zebbler Incanti Experience, Montague Armstrong and Twice Dead, among others.
There's a healthy dollop of African music in the show. Our featured compilation is the recent Analog African album showcasing music from Benin in the sixties and seventies; there's also something from the fabulous Congo Revolution, from the always wonderful Soul Jazz and a track from the recent EP by Shina Williams & His African Percussionists.
Our Peel Back... section this month features tunes that appeared in session in the John Peel show in July 1968, 78 and 98.

Pete Jackson - July 2018
We warmly welcome Spacerock legends and Peel Show veterans Mugstar to the show this month, bringing with them their first session for the station - and a mighty thing it is too.
Nestled alongside them you'll find some old favourites, like Heroin In Tahiti, Meat Beat Manifesto, Art Trip And The Static Sound, Twice Dead and Wooden Shjips among them, and new tunes from new favourites The Death Wheelers, Moron's Moron and Smell?.
There's funky sounds from 70s Peru, some Russian Dub, 80s Cape Verdean dance music, some original all-girl 60s garage rock and Pete's first encounter with Six By Seven.

Rocker - July 2018
Three hours packed with new music, including two exclusive new sessions recorded in Rocker's kitchen as always - one from Helen McCookerybook (of The Chefs and Helen & The Horns), and a one from Mark McDowell & Friends - this fourth session from McDowell means they have recorded more sessions for the show than any other artist, and it goes out exactly ten years after their first.
We also have new tracks from Ex-Vöid; East Brunswick All Girls Choir; The Winter Passing; The Good Good Things; Muncie Girls; Twice Dead; Lonely Tourist; The Total Rejection; The Hector Collectors; Action Painting!; Courtney Barnett; Perfect Body and Awakebutstillinbed.
This seems to be a month for collaborations or covers - We have The Nightingales with Vic Godard taking on Giorgio Moroder; Boyracer take on The Clean; Lia Pamina and Dario Persi join forces on a tune made famous by Cilla Black; Fucked Up take on BBC Radio One's Mike Read; Arthur Baker works with Rockers Revenge after a 30 year hiatus, and they come up with a stormer! On the electro side we have Tiga joining forces with Kolsch; Eagles And Butterflies working with Bedrock; and Tiefschwartz gets his hands on Javier Logares and Kaarel.
This month's Rocker's Shellac Attack features swing from 1940 out of Kansas City, while this month's Educating Elizabeth record is a 1967 floorfiller from NYC, and a B-side to boot.
As well as little known acts, here's this month's little known fact: There are more trees on Earth than there are stars in the Milky Way.

Sean Hocking - July 2018
It's a big one this month. 4 hours, yes that's right. So much new and discovered music I had to double up this month. We've got the debut album from Texan, Occult Character, out on Metal Postcard Records and unusually for Ring of Fire some artists featuring multiple times in the show. IDLES out of Bristol have a new album on the way so we've got 2 tracks from them, they just get better and better. A couple from Australian band Loobs and having forgotten how wonderful Kevin Morby is, I decided we all needed a double dose from him as well.
Couldn't help include the new one where Underworld & Iggy Pop team up, not something I had ever expected to hear. Also new ones from Thee Oh Sees, Wooden Shjips, Papernut Cambridge and perennial faves, Half Man Half Biscuit.
On the electronic side of things we are loving Boss Moves by Luca Lozano, Tyler by Meggy and the new Oneohtrix Point. Did I say we've even got a cover of Warm Leatherette by Suzi Quatro?
Lots of oddball oldies that have piqued the ears too.
Thanks for listening and back again to serve you next month.

Thomas Blatchford - July 2018
Greetings listeners from a Melbourne winter where it's parkier than Michael Parkinson in a parka, parking his car, and where sparkling dew forms on the turntables of a morn. Thomas is annoyed at his own voice again and blames the weather, but is still cock-a-hoop about all the records in July's show. There's some pupil-dilatingly great albums represented, either just arrived or just on the horizon, by the likes of Empat Lima, SOPHIE, AhMerAhSu, Sobs, Rabbit Island and more, plus some recent reissues from Professor Rhythm and Sunny & The Sunliners.
As usual, there's some words that cause pronunciation problems (how do you say 'Glimer'? 'Basenji'? 'Iiris'?) and, as seems to be happening every month now, a couple of early nineties rave flashbacks.
Plus! Two songs urging men to stop harassing people on the bus (c'mon guys, seriously), the return of Fresh (hooray!) and a song which you're almost certainly going to think is being played at the wrong speed. Do it, do it, yeah!

Trev - July 2018
A two hour show this month packed with goodies. There are three songs from the Indietracks 2018 compilation, the festival takes places at the end of July and I picked out a few gems from the download compilation.
Elsewhere there is a new glitchy tune from Dravier, there is some doomy sludge metal from Amarok. Drone from Abul Mogard from Belgrade in Serbia. And we have huge helping of new songs from the likes of T-Shirt Weather, Fresh, Magic Mist, Electric Street Queens, Remember Sports, Deeper and Sami Baha.
There is just one Odd Box oldie this month and that comes from the fantastic Maybe Don't.
