The Beatbox Saboteurs Show - September 2018
Have we got a show for you this month!
Mr Blu has been over the pond for a couple of weeks and that has allowed Skreen to seek out tracks for the show without any form of supervision. That can be pretty dangerous territory, as you will hear during the show.
Worry, but don't worry too much! There is still a degree of stability, as we play new tracks from a few of our favourite repeat offenders such as Soft Science, Dentist, Klammer and Vandal Moon, the latter guesting on a terrific vverevvolf single. Added to that Transmission 13 pop up with Xqui.
One great discovery for this show is a jazzy track with spiky words by the collage artist Ashley Reaks accompanied by Joe Hakim and some slinky sax. We are also glad to share an absolutely ripping ditty by Turkish Delight which was sent to us by our new friends at the I Heart Noise label.
Since stumbling across them on Bandcamp a few months ago, we have also quietly been fans of the Z Tapes label and this month we have included a few of our top choices from their Summer 2018 compilation. That means an airing for Wind Mile (featuring Marie Léger), Cody & the Jet Skis and LoVision.
What else? There are too many genres to list (happily most defy classification anyway) so we will just tell you that you will be able to hear a variety of sounds from acts such as Rectal Distrophy, Hyperion, Matt The Martyr, We Are Replica, Plebs & Fuckboys, EriS, K Michelle DuBois, WUK, Darto, Evan Jewett, Palm Ghosts, Surowa Kara Za Grzechy, Solemnly Sage, Peter Zimmermann, High Dart and Lemondoza.
Finally, we have to mention that the recording of the show was slightly disrupted by an international airshow taking place in the background, so if we seem even more ragged than usual it is because of all the Fokkers outside.
Chocks away!

Gareth Jones - September 2018
We've reached September and so the Autumn begins (or for our American listeners, it's The Fall ... something that always confused me when I was younger, as I kept thinking Americans were referring to Mark E. Smith). So put on your best cardigan and prepare to keep warm with another two hours of new music and some old favourites.
In the first hour I'll be paying tribute to the late great Barry Chuckle with a startling rap collaboration between Tinchy Stryder & The Chuckle Brothers. Plus we get political with Trump-related songs from Lach and Captain SKA.
In the second hour I'll be celebrating 30 years of the Damaged Goods label with newbies like Thee Dagger Debsand classics from Johnny Moped and Oizone plus specially recorded messages from Helen Love and Cyanide Pills.
This month also sees a random selection of cover versions, ranging from a surf guitar rendition of Britney's 'Toxic' from The Surfrajettes to actor, comedian and musician Matt Berry covering the TV theme tune of 'Rainbow'!
All this plus the usual obscurities from the Sixties and soundtracks and new releases ranging from the punk-rock return of Art Brut to the world sounds of Japan's KUUNATIC.

Mark Cunliffe - September 2018
No resting on ones laurels for September. We may have had a very hot (for the UK) summer but it's not addled my music listening.
Odetta Hartman comes in with a nifty number and Woozie Moo comes at us with some mad footwork.
Derby's JK and Truskool have come up with some great new bhangra which takes a nod to the ninties.
Mr Vegas continues to come up with the bangers and I'm rewinding a bit to a Durrty Goodz track.
Average Sex comes at us with a track which will make you stand proud and Jimi Entley has been digging the crates for a great sound.

Mark Whitby - September 2018
We've got two exclusive debut sessions in the show this month, one from Skullfuck Jackson, who has previously appeared in session in other guises, and Japan's Dead Bambies, who haven't.
As usual, there are also some great new releases to dig into, with tracks from new albums by Guerilla Toss, Mogwai, Idles, Benjamin Shaw and rOZZ, plus a new single from The Pocket Gods and an EP from Postcode.
There's also something from the Boring Machines retrospective of Heroin In Tahiti, while Analog Africa present a reissue from Ghana's Gdeyu-Blay Ambolley and there's another bunch of great cassette releases from BOFA, New Vogue and Bengal Sound plus a USB release from Jubl.
Meanwhile, this month's Peel Back... features three classic tunes originating in Canada, Zambia and Northern Ireland.

Pete Jackson - September 2018
Just an hour from Pete this month, so we'd better move fast - ace new tunes from Dementio13, Thee Oh Sees, Cheval Sombre, The Junta, Dusty Mush, Cornershop and Jumble Hole Clough await, and anyone who had a TV in the 1970s should get there for the opening seconds of the show for a Matt Berry-based nostalgia rush.

Rocker - September 2018
A three hour show this month, featuring an exclusive session from young Bristol punks The Good Good Things, recorded in Rocker's kitchen - quite a punky show in fact, with new tracks from Fashionism; Jetstream Pony; Dark Thoughts; Monnone Alone; Avishay; Corner Boys; Official War Artist; Paper Cameras; The Beths; The Just Joans; The Orchids; The Total Rejection; The Hector Collectors; and Oliver Elf Army.
There's also electronica from Ceas; Felix Eul; Arthur Baker feat. Rockers Revenge; and Marc Romboy.
This month's Rocker's Shellac Attack is a French release from 1950, while this month's Educating Elizabeth records commemorate a couple of recent sad deaths on the US soul scene.
As well as little known acts, here's this month's little known fact: The band Rauschenberg are named after the American artist Robert Rauschenberg, whose 1950s work made him one of the forefathers of Pop Art.

Sean Hocking - September 2018
We're 3/4 through the year and I'm still starting my show with Chats songs. Here at Ring of Fire we just love these lovable Brisbane chaps and their songs of post teen rebellion. We've also got more new music from Django Django, Perth's Cold Meat, our favourite LA producer Secret Circuit and Metal Postcard's Melbourne based Gravy Murphy amongst many others.
Be prepared for a long piece of adult rock in the middle of the show with that heavy heavy monster sound of the Swans.
Our favourite new UK band has to be Cambridge, now London based Sports Team. Great songs that remind me of the way I wanted Suede to sound after I read about them in NME as a younger man, I think if I were 17 again I'd be following this band from gig to gig around the country.
Odder selections include a Euro loving track from Craxxxmurf and Toto ( Yes that Toto) covering Weezer.
We 've managed to fit in some Gram Parsons too.
Thanks for listening

Thomas Blatchford - September 2018
Greetings from Australia where nobody's entirely sure who the prime minister is, Thomas' sinuses have an attitude problem, and the new Nasho album is the cultural artefact you should be clutching to your chest when the local crows swoop to kill. That astounding record gets a look in this month, as does new #content by Kayo, Peach Club, Lime Crush, Tkay Maidza, HoT To RoT, and so on.
This show features a decent chunk of fruity language, an ode to stinky bedsheets that could get its creator in a lot of trouble, and two tributes to two very different artists (Aretha Franklin and Barry Chuckle, did they ever meet? Speaking of which did you know that there's a photo in existence of Paul Chuckle and Chuck D hanging out together on Southampton Common?) Have a great month!

A three hour show this month and if it's fizzing guitars you like I've got you covered with new songs from Swearim', School Damage, Big Supermarket, Enids, Hook Jaw and Teenage Bigfoot. We also have new Cardiff band Rosehip Teahouse on the show for the first time.
If guitars aren't your thing listen out for tunes from Wheelman, Gallo, Drvg Cvltvre, Helena Hauff and Renick Bell who all bring various take on modern electronic dance music.
We also have a slew of doubles this month: A couple of 60s beat tunes from The Thunderbeats and The Sound Reasons on Portguese label Groovie Records. A love double featuring Simon Love and Helen Love. A return of some old favourites double from The Damned and Half Man Half Biscuit. Plus we bid a welcome return to the Invisible Spies label - featuring old favourites Chips For The Poor and a 20+ minute sound scape from SNRRM and VARM.
And we have a peak preview of a new song from The Wendy Darlings, a rough mix of a tune from their yet to titled new LP which will be out later this year on Odd Box.
