Andrew Morrison - June 2020
Keeping up with new music is one of the very few activities keeping Andy sane in recent times. As such, every selection in this two-hour June show has been released in 2020 within the last four months - the vast majority since we've been on Coronavirus lockdown here in the UK. You're going to hear fab new music from The Company Of Men, Victories At Sea, Laura Cantrell, Purity Ring, Ivan Conti, Bdrmm, I Break Horses, Kelly Lee Owens, Song Sung, Yaeji, By Land and more. You'll also hear two older numbers made available for May's 'Bandcamp Friday': an Epic45 session track originally recorded for this very show back in 2007; and a live rendition of a classic Arab Strap number taken from one of their many incredible 'Archive' digital releases.

The Beatbox Saboteurs Show - June 2020
June sees the return of Skreen to the controls. That's enough to worry the skin off a rice pudding! Chaos ensues as he does a special link up with Tokyo (Japan) to chat with Lee from Thomas Imposter Records and Pank!n from Goofy18 about the new compilation "see U again with a smile! !". We play a few tracks from the compilation and even spin an old favourite from the Sadistic Mika Band.
Another compilation, "Into The Dark Volume 2", provides some excellent tracks from Lune Rouge, Salt, Alicka and there's just enough time to slip in the debut release from Penfriend and one from Daisy Modular.
Enjoy the show!

Gareth Jones - June 2020
Gareth brings you another two hours of essential lockdown listening, including a new social distancing single by Beans On Toast. Plus with flight travel at a minimum and holidays cancelled, why not close your eyes and imagine yourself relaxing in a hot country by the exotic and tropical sounds of the new single by Monster Rally
There may not have been a proper competitive Eurovision Song Contest ceremony this year, but that hasn't stopped Gareth from picking a couple of his favourite contenders, with tracks by Russia's entry Little Big and Iceland's Daði Freyr.
This month's "Secret Songs from the Sixties" brings two cuts taken from "Terror From The Universe", the latest in the series of compilation CDs featuring songs from the record collection of Lux and Ivy of The Cramps on the Righteous label.
In the 2nd hour Gareth will be joined (at a safe distance) by special guests (and Festive Fifty favourites) Ricardo Autobahn and Jenny McLaren from electro-pop duo Spray who will be introducing 4 songs of their choice in the feature "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue".
Plus hear a track from their new 4-track EP "Offerings from the Algorithm" released on the Analogue Trash label. And when he's not in Spray, you'll also find Ricardo playing keyboards for Helen Love who coincidentally also have a new double A side single released. Then we end the show with a trip to the Autobahn in memory of Florian Schneider of Kraftwerk.

Leo Gilbert - June 2020
An even more special than usual show for Leo this month. To coincide with the release of the new album by Dutch band De Kift, Leo has an interview with founding member Ferry Heijne and part of a socially-distant live performance given by the band via internet feed on the day of the album's release. Leo also plays a sprinkling of tracks from the album ("Hoogriet") itself, of course. If you weren't a fan of De Kift before hearing Leo's show, you soon will be.
Aside from De Kift, Leo has a dazzling array of talent on display. Lady Leshurr gives us a "Quarantine Speech" and IDLES sneak in at the eleventh hour with their new single. Jockstrap feature, as do show favourites Blanck Mass and Odd Nosdam.
Holy Fuck have a track from their EP of "Deleter" remixes and the very far from forgettable Amnesia Scanner work with Lyzza on their new track. Leo also plays Jangly Mark & the Benefits and The Strokes.
A couple of older tunes in updated form are provided by Wire and Mark Lanegan, and new to the show are Filthy Tricks and Muzz. Istanbul Hippodrome stomp all over the opposition with 15 minutes of pulverising sound and Max Cooper brings out the aural highlights through a 3D reworking of one of his tunes.
And there is so much more besides, so instead of reading about it, why not strap an ear to the internet and listen in?

Mark Cunliffe - June 2020
Well, half way through the year already. We seem to have got here very quickly, with a lot of turbulence. When I was 10, a year seemed like a long time. If I get to 60, will one year feel like it's taken about three quarter of an hour to get through? We definitely need to lose the turbulence too.
So, what of my June show? There is Polyhymns who seem pretty new on the scene creating something pretty cool and a new album from Ariel Sharratt & Mathias Kom to feast over. Namoo Nara has created one of the loveliest footwork tracks I've heard and Prince Fatty has done his own nifty version of Kraftwork's The Model.
Grey Hairs are out with a live offering and it's fab and Jack Acid is up to his usual tricks of a high standard.

Mark Whitby - June 2020
For the second time this year, The Jungles!!! feature in the show, this time with a recorded session to follow the excellent live extract we featured earlier in the year. There's also a featured compilation from France's La Souterraine label, one of many labels around the world who've certainly pulled their weight in easing any lockdown blues over the last few months.
We also have glimpses of new albums from Fontaines DC, The Wolfhounds Deerhoof and The Beths, a new EP from The Mauskovic Dance Band and soundtracks from Mogwai and Blanck Mass. There's also something from the annual compilation from Lithuania's Cold Tear label, a 1930s release from the Greek underground, some stunning Senegalese guitar from Tidiane Thiam and Tanya Donelly covering The Pixies, every bit as well as you might expect her to.
Retrospectively, we Peel back... to three featured recordings from forty years ago this month and of course pay tribute to the rich legacies left behind by Dave Greenfield, Florian Schneider and Little Richard.

Pete Jackson - June 2020
Loads of new tunes from new acts to entertain this month, from the opening voodoo rhythms of Chouk Bwa to the closing psych rock-out of Banshee, with some more familiar names like Jason Beers, L'Eclair and Warped Freqs joining the likes of Keety Roots, Dengue Dengue Dengue and Bananagun.
All this newness gets balanced out as we give over the central portion of the show to remember some of the greats we lost in recent weeks, including Little Richard, Florian Schneider and Tony Allen.

Rocker - June 2020
A packed three hour show from Rocker this month, bringing you a shedload of new music including quite a few things recorded since the start of lockdown.
We have new tracks from Stutter Steps; The Nightingales; The Drain On The Balcony; Lewsberg; Lonely Tourist; Sparks; Beat Hotel; Goldie Dawn; Wolfhounds; The Total Rejection; Dark Matters; The Flatmates; Boyracer; Jetstream Pony; Church Of Elvis; Supermilk and Steven Adams & The French Drops.
It may not have escaped your attention that there are lots of things going on out in the real world at the moment - Dillie Keane from Fascinating Aida and The Reverend Jonny Kinkaid both give their takes on the antics of a certain senior government aide, while Gavin Osborn & The Comment Section and Killdren warn us of the threat to our NHS. Pete Bentham & The Dinner Ladies and The Commoners Choir also get their oar in. As the show was being recorded, news was breaking of the murder of George Floyd - we managed to squeeze in a timely play for a chilling Pussy Riot track from 2015 at the end of the show, showing that where racist US cops are concerned, nothing much has changed.
There's electronica from Ellen Allien; Crazy Sonic remixed by Extrawelt; and Budakid & Jonas Saalbach remixed by Petar Dundov.
We also pay tribute to some of the artists who have recently departed - this month's Educating Elizabeth record comes from Betty Wright, while this month's Rocker's Shellac Attack is a Little Richard classic from 1956.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: The lyrics to Little Richard's breakthrough 1955 hit 'Tutti Frutti' were always controversial. They were changed in the studio on the day of recording to remove references to anal sex, adding the classic line 'Awopbopaloobopalopbamboom'.

Sean Hocking - June 2020
Another month another Ring of Fire Radio 4 hour show. Lots of new music and unfortunately too many great musicians and innovators leaving us. In one month the architects if not the creators of Rock'n'Roll and electronic music, Little Richard & Florian Schneider. Also, Tony Allen, Phil May & Dave Greenfield. Let's hope that next month the grim reaper's harvest isn't so all encompassing both in the world of music and all around us.
We feature new releases from Manchester based singer songwriter Graham Domain, a singer whose Nick Drake like compositions come with a vocal that simultaneously reminds Ring of Fire of David Sylvian & Bryan Ferry. Out of Amsterdam a new one from the Mauskovic Dance Band who we've featured on and off over the past couple of years. It's good to see London tastemakers like Sounds of The Universe pick them up and declare their latest outing, track of the week. A great new album release from Australian band The Frowning Clouds who piece together the parts that are The Black Lips and The Rolling Blackouts into something that sounds new and fresh. New UK band Benefits who started off with a couple of quite straight up punky type tunes last year and are now finding their stride with their latest tune, Imperfect. Yes it's a bit of a play on the IDLES, DC Fontaines sound but it is one of the freshest things yet this year out of the UK and without directly saying it reflects back the world we are currently in.
Also new tunes from our perennial favourites RMFC out of Sydney, Sir Robert Orange Peel who has been doing some great lockdown sets in his house (Dining Room, Lounge, Landing & Loft so far) that you can check out on his YouTube Channel ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU3Xwo1EfYmf0VvmUq97s9Q ) and Melbourne based Gordon Koang.
We've also got Nick Cane covering Bolan, Chris Coco with a classic 1990 approach to the Velvet's Sunday Morning and Brian Eno's sublime cover of Ring of Fire that was only ever pressed up as a test run.
And.. that, as they say, is only the half of it.
I hope you enjoy the show. Keep safe out there and keep tuning into Dandelion and Ring of Fire for the rest of the year. By mid summer we are going to have an explosion of new music as all those musicians and djs out there let loose on the world all that work they've been beavering away on for the past few months in isolation. I, for one, cannot wait
Finally a little mention of my Bottom of the Pops weekly newsletter. It reached 200 issues last month. If you haven't read it do check out issue 200 ( https://mailchi.mp/ffac054c94fb/bottom-of-the-pops-43-20-april-799688 ) and get in touch if you'd like to get a copy every Sunday.

Thomas Blatchford - June 2020
Thomas was very seriously considering only playing Kraftwerk deep cuts this month but instead stuck with mostly new stuff from Planet Jackpot, MissGenius, Oondood, Skink Tank, Clemency, Charli XCX and so on, plus Brian Eno's take on Headie One.
If you'll forgive me for switching from referring to myself in the third person for a moment, I also take a dive through several recent isolation compilations, introduce my favourite Elvis impersonator (it's not Danzig), revisit a Dandelion session by The Dead Bambies and reveal the song I want played at my funeral. Hey, wha' happen?

Trev - June 2020
First proper show in what seems like ages. There are cover versions from Fontaines D.C. and The Jesus and Mary Chain this month.
There is also a featured album from South Wales's finest Sweet Benfica with their superb new LP - and I play 3 songs from it. Elsewhere we have a smattering of pop punk, a feast of Africa inspired sounds and the usual dose of quirky pop and doomy metal.
Expect tunes from then likes of Harrga, Asthmatic Astronaut, LoKkhi TeRra, Tanya Donelly, Ben Lurie (once of The Jesus and Mary Chain), The Wolfhounds, Helen Love and Sarah Ohm.
