Heeeeeeeeey, you know where we haven't yet travelled to in these synopses? The wild west! Don't ask me why - ennui?
Anyway, hold tight to those reins, cos you're bout to ride with bucking broncos like Iguana Lover and Sheer Mag. Don't let those dastardly bandits Terry and Breakfast Muff get away! Giddy up - maybe AGYN or SassyBlack can cut them off at the pass. Back at the saloon, Absolutely Not tosses back another cold one with their partner, err, Partner - but when Young Guv walks by with a louche remark, both gangs pounce. Pan to the open desert, where the tumbleweeds roll - winds howl across the horizons of Gravetemple and Sam Mullany.
If this were a steampunk set, then Kalbells would engineer the mad gadgets that the gunslinger would wield. And who would that dashing hero be, per say? No contest - Art School Jocks will outdraw ya any day.
All this, plus the ever-growing roundup of buckaroos from my neck of the woods, like Dada Tennis and Dead Selves; a reissue of Young Fathers' first tapes; and encores from Hey Colossus and David Nance.
And now, the moment you've been waiting for: YEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAW!

Mark Whitby - July 2017
A show that begins and ends a tad nostalgically - with that traditional Peel Back... dollop of nostalgia in the middle - concentrates for the remainder of the show on new and future releases. In that spirit we present something from the new EPs from Kloba Kent and Bloomin' Nora and new albums from Ippu Mitsui, Nac/Hut Report and Antony Harding. We've also got previews from forthcoming collections from JD Meatyard and Jan Strach while also playing something from what will sadly be the last release from The Fucked Up Beat.
If your ears need a bit of a clearing out, there's plenty of noisy stuff in the three hours, including demos from Big Heet and Suzi Q, something from France's Stratocasters and Canada's Soupcans and five tracks from our featured compilation - the Abort Abort 2 cassette featuring bands from Eastern Europe which, you'll be both intrigued and dismayed to hear, is practically impossible to get hold of.
Fortunately, you can get easily get your hands on the marvellous Pop Makossa compilation of late seventies/early eighties Cameroon dance music, so we throw in a couple of tracks from that as well. As has become customary in recent months, we've also got something wonderful from Sir Robert Orange Peel and Paul Rooney, plus something from the equally wonderful Cuban Boys, though in somewhat unfamiliar guise ...

Pete Jackson - July 2017
Variety is the spice this month, with two hours of tunes taking in hip hop from Mahatma X, drum and bass from Dub Phizix, garage psych from Dusty Mush and several less easy to classify noises eminating from the likes of Keith Seatman and Jumble Hole Clough.
There's Indian Ocean Sega music and psychedelic folk from the 1970s, techno from the 90s, a good dollop of Psychic TV from the 80s and some awesome new sounds from contemporary Tanzania, Turkey and Salford.
Fieldhead and The Rippers return to the show after lengthy absences and there's a mighty debut session mix from The Heartwood Institute.

Rocker - July 2017
This month we bring you a three hour show packed with new music, there's an exclusive debut session from Bristol's kings of the surf guitar The Dukes Of Mumbai, and tracks from this month's featured album, the Indietracks Festival 2017 Compilation.
There's also new tracks from JD Meatyard; Charmpit; Flemmings; The Wedding Present; Fresh; Asbo Derek; Courtney Barnett; Jen Cloher; The Charlie Tipper Conspiracy; Secret Shine; The Como Mamas; Exedra; Jetstream Pony; The Luxembourg Signal; Star Tropics; Kew; We. The Pigs; and Pregnancy.
There's new electronica from Gheist; Andre Lodemann remixed by Adriatique; Audiojack remixed by Fort Romeau; Dub Phizix; and Bicep.
This month's Peel's Big 45 is an undiscovered mod classic from 1966, while the show opens with this month's Educating Elizabeth record - a solid gold soul funk classic from 1971, played here in its full-length version.
As well as little know acts, here's this month's little known fact: Bicep means 'two heads' in Latin - an appropriate name for a duo of producers from Northern Ireland.

This month on Ring of Fire we've got a new one from London band DEF!CIT to start the show followed up by fellow travelers Nurvarna.
Other great discoveries of the last month are Skyjelly, Tariq Disu from South london and Gym Tonic with their wonderful tune Nerds or Doom.
Also a few oldies as its summer. Don't know how it's bypassed me all these years but Donovan's Sand & Foam is a particular delight that I have been savouring as well as Titus Turner's Bla, Bla, Bla, Cha Cha Cha, & vinyl was made for music like this!
Matthew Edwards has released his latest album, Folklore, on Gare du Nord Records. Some of the finest songs around at the moment. In the show we feature Birmingham with plenty more to come as the year rolls by.
Thanks as always for listening, do send in your music, comments etc and don't forget to listen to all the shows!
