| Leo Gilbert Again - February 2020 In Leo's two-hour February show, he plays a whole host of tunes released mostly in the month or two before the show was pieced together in January. He plays another excellent track from the new Dylan Henner EP, a brand new tune from New Zealand's Nadia Reid, an ultra-new song by Dan Deacon (the first on which he has sung in an untreated way), a very, very new track by The Innocence Mission, and possibly even newer is Holy Fuck's album, a song from which graces the show. Most surprising and intriguing song of the month goes to Rabbit Island and Nicholas Allbrook: listen and you'll see what Leo means. Aside from all of this strange-and-loveliness are tunes by iZem, Humanist and Depeche Mode's Dave Gahan, the now-defunct Punčke, a very disturbing tune by CIA Debutante and more noise from Special Request and HAAi. There's electronica from Marc Romboy remixed by Ben Lukas Boysen; Martin Buttrich and Space Motion gives a new twist to a classic by Silicone Soul. This month's Educating Elizabeth record is a 1966 release from the sadly recently departed Lorraine Chandler while this month's Rocker's Shellac Attack finds one of the original rock'n'rollers in a mournful country mood in 1958. As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: The magic power of joy re-unites all that custom has divided, all men become brothers under the sway of its gentle wings.
