Festive Fifty Build Up Show - December 2022
Join a selection of Dandelion Radio DJs for the hour up to midnight (GMT) on Christmas Eve for this one-off, Festive Fifty Build-Up show. They'll be introducing some of their picks of 2022 that didn't quite make it into this year's legendary listeners' poll, while warming up for the first play of the 2022 results starting at midnight.

Andrew Morrison - December 2022
For the first time since July, Andy's show for December is back to its typical duration of two hours just in time for Christmas, with a mostly moody selection of wintery tunes. He'll be paying tribute to Mimi Parker, who we tragically lost in November, by playing four of his favourite songs by Low. Andy also features new music from Telefís, Laura Cantrell, Arab Strap, Paragon Sea, Zouj, The Balloonist and Bonemachine. There are two radically different versions of Seagoth's latest single; a Kraftwerk cover by Boy Omega; an awesome slab of shoegaze from MOLLY; a brand new single from former session guest Tired Cossack; an Andy's Old Chestnut from 1997 by Mansun, and much more.

Also listen out for the results of the official 2022 Festive Fifty repeating every from Christmas Day until the end of January in a co-hosted show counting down Dandelion Radio listeners' favourite tracks of 2022.

Calum Carlyle - December 2022
As 2022 draws to a close we throw our hands in the air and ask where did another twelve months go?
As always the answer is with the fates, however you can while away yet another two hours by listening to some more offbeat tunes on Calum's show on Dandelion Radio.
As usual, it's a host of uncovered goodies from the music scene of today, peppered with some unusual non-hits of yesteryear, including new releases from The Karlos Kollective, Panda Bear & Sonic Boom, Alvvays, Nick Luddite, Sendelica, Stay and many many more, reissues in shiny packages from the likes of Mac DeMarco and Virgin Prunes, as well as stuff you won't hear anywhere else, like the track from Detroit's Unpopular Creeps, or from Philadelphia's Unpopular Creeps, or even from the misty murky nineties, with songs from Nilon Bombers and Schulte / Eriksson.
There's something for everyone, so get the kettle on and fire up your headphones.

David Smith - December 2022
We mourn the tragic losses of Mimi Parker from Low, Keith Levene of Public Image Ltd., and Dan McCafferty of Nazareth with a small tribute to each aforementioned band. I have a lot of new and almost new material for you this month, including great songs from Off Models, Kaye, Dartz, Life, Les Rencards, Arrêt, Fomies, and Lucrecia Dalt. We also have a new song from the upcoming album by Summer Flake. But wait! We have some prog-reggae from Ecuador, a Finnish ska cover of The Misfits, and an awesome song from The Godfather's mother!
Enjoy the show!

Gareth Jones - December 2022
Gareth has TWO shows for you this month. This regular show on December's Dandelion Radio schedule, plus a Xmas show will appear on Mixcloud (and broadcast on Germany's FSK on December 23rd).
The regular show is full of football fever, with three brand new World Cup singles and a forgotten footie classic from Cornelius.
Meanwhile the 2nd hour's guest presenter of 'Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue' is Sir Robert Orange Peel who will be introducing two tracks from his World Cup concept album called 'On The Game'.
Plus to escape the football, there are tracks from the reissued debut albums by Heavenly and Voice of the Beehive and plenty of new choons too.

Jeff Grainger on FSK - December 2022
Jeff presents another mixed bag of surprises with an uncompromising, varied, selection of musical genres from all around the world.
Leo Gilbert - December 2022
Another massive five hours of music from Leo for December, and not a mention of Christmas to be heard!
Inevitably, the show has a sombre mood at times as Leo marks the death of one of the most talented, influential musicians of the past two or three decades: Mimi Parker of Low, who will be much missed.
Aside from three Low tunes, Leo has a vast array of music from every nook and cranny of the globe, including Jockstrap, Gilla Band, Jani Ho, Elian Gray, an epic new track from Burial, Black Ox Orkestar, Nikolajev, Lady Lykez, Istanbul Hippodrome, One Eye One Leg and ZZY.
Leo says that it really is one of his best shows ever, so why not listen in to see if he is correct?

Mark Whitby - December 2022
Christmas is coming, but we're not feeling very merry about the recent loss of Mimi Parker and Keith Levene so, as you'd probably expect. there are offerings from both of them in this month's show. Sadly, timing didn't allow for a suitable goodbye to Wilko Johnson but the sentiments are the same.
Aside from that, we've got tracks from new or recent releases by Kottarashky & The Rain Dogs, Agent Starling, Burial and Mdou Moctar.
We also have as many as four releases from the Metal Postcard, who could probably make a plausible claim to be the most productive label of 2022 in terms of both number and quality of releases.
There's a lookback to the Festive Fifty of 30 years ago in our Peel Back... section and a clutch of some of the best of the early Christmas releases and reissues to sing along to with a plate of nuts and a bowl of figgy pudding, if such things are to your liking.

Join Mark as he takes us through another two hours of his favourite new music, with brief glances at reissued gems from the past and a general focus on the interesting, the odd and the unfairly overlooked.
Pete Jackson - December 2022
A feast of treats awiats this month - some festive, some less so.
New tunes from old favourites Istanbul Hippodrome, Goat, The Comet Is Coming and Rodney Cromwell nestle snuggly alongside newcomers Tenn Mortgage, J Walk and The Linda Lindas.
There's a double dose of Sonic Boom and another of Peruvian Cumbia, and we're covering just about every decade from the 1940s (big band, Thai Jazz) via 50s rock n roll, 70s kosmiche, 80s grindcore, a 00ies Christmas tune and a new release from 70s Zamrock giants WITCH.
Have yourself a merry one.

Rocker - December 2022
A two hour show from Rocker this month, including new tracks from Judy And The Jerks; Lonely Tourist; Swansea Sound; The Mudd Club; Helen McCookerybook; Poor Performer; Girlsperm; Arrest! Charlie Tipper; and Bothers
There's electronica from ANNA; Pale Blue remixed by Fort Romeau and an amazing new track from Burial.
This month's Rocker's Shellac Attack is a classic from 1939, while this month's Educating Elizabeth track is a brand new funk instrumental out of Hamburg.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: Columbia Records refused to release Billie Holiday's version of Strange Fruit because of the controversial lyrics, she recorded it instead for smaller label Commodore.

Sean Hocking - December 2022
Another year rolls round and what a year for new music.
Although there was no defining sound of the year the creativity nurtured throughout the pandemic years is truly flowering with releases literally bursting from the seams month after month.
Two examples of this come to mind immediately and both are UK based. Mystery outfit Sault surprised us with a chamber orchestra release earlier in the year, then an extended ep, followed in the last month with, count them, 5 releases in one package that I haven't even started to decipher as yet. Closer to home at Metal Postcard records, York's Salem Trials have un-bottled their northern post-punk soul with excellent release after excellent release.
This month's show was initially to be 2 hours of recent tunes and 2 hours of the year's best and in the end I had to plump for four hours of the latter with another 4 or so hours of songs left on the cutting room floor. So, first up apologies to those of you that didn't make the show and I'll try to remind listeners in 2023 of some of the great things that didn't get a play in this show.
So who would I really like to highlight from this past year. Any regular listener will know that for me in 2022 Canadians Whitney K top the pack. Will they be famous? I don't know, but their take on the late Velvets early Modern Lovers sound with the songwriting skills of a Cash or Jones has me swooning every time I listen. A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to see them at the Shackwell Arms and live they were more than I had hoped for. I never though i'd be saying at the wrong side of 55 that I'd just seen one of the best things ever ... but there you go that's how it is.
The Australian DIY underground is also, I'm glad to say, alive and well. Whilst the normals bang on about the appalling Lime Cordiale & Gang of Youths in the garages of Sydney we have come across Gee Tee and Daughter Bat & the Lip Stings and let's not forget the raw power of the hottest duo of the year Party Dozen. Meanwhile Melbourne has delivered ... yes ... Delivery ... and their superb Baader Meinhoff inspired tune along with great new albums from the Frowning Clouds and the softer sounding but still delicious Pinheads. Also a shout out to one of the great songwriters, Robert Forster who was superb both live and with his new record this year.
At Metal Postcard we hope more people will be listening to UK outfit The Conspiracy in 2023. I for one can't get enough of what they have delivered to the label this year. Our Metal Postcard super group. Legless Trials produced two sharp and dark albums in 2022 and I was honoured to re-release the Bordellos "Ronco Sound" album an undiscovered classic that will, at some point, be taken up by some young brash American indie kids as the palette for the future of guitar music.
Huge mentions also go to The Fat Earthers, Super Hit, Rezo, Tzusan, Koreatown Oddity, M(h)aol and the many many other artists we have and haven't had a chance to play this year.

Thomas Blatchford - December 2022
Like many Dandelion shows this month, Thomas's December broadcast begins with a tribute to Mimi Parker, specifically a Low song from twenty years ago.
It's incredible of course, as is everything here in your presenter's opinion, otherwise why would it be propelled towards your ears? Hextape, Erasers and Dog Name all have late-ish contenders for album of the year and cuts from each appear within, as do excellent new singles from Half Gift, Boorook, Skink Tank and more.
The Person and Hot Tubs Time Machine both have songs about shops a few hundred yards away from each other in Brunswick, Melbourne, and it makes your host crave both a cheese pie and a cheap disco ball.
