Festive Fifty Build Up Show - December 2024
Join a selection of Dandelion Radio DJs for the hour up to midnight (GMT) on Christmas Eve for this one-off, Festive Fifty Build-Up show. They'll be introducing some of their picks of 2024 that didn't quite make it into this year's legendary listeners' poll, while warming up for the first play of the 2024 results starting at midnight.

Andrew Morrison - December 2024
Unusually, this December sees Andy hosting a show without a single Christmas-themed track. He makes up for it slightly by playing you the three songs he voted for in John Peel's 2003 Festive Fifty, to get you in the mood for hearing Dandelion Radio's upcoming 2024 Festive Fifty listeners poll results (repeating every day from Christmas Day until the end of January). Andy also provides some seasonal cheer by playing you a rather unusual electronic track featuring guest "comedy" from fellow DJ Mark Cunliffe!

Elsewhere in this two-hour show, the brilliant new music still keeps coming thick and fast as we race to 2024's finish line. Listen in for tunes from Sjöblom, Kelly Lee Owens, Tired Cossack, Alan Sparhawk, Fake Empire, Lambrini Girls, R. Missing, Peter Perrett, Roberta Fidora, Deary, Azure Blue and more, including a previously unreleased 1987 twelve-inch remix of New Order's classic single 'Bizarre Love Triangle' that features on their 'Brotherhood' definitive edition boxed set.

Leo Gilbert - December 2024
Had enough of Christmas already? Leo sympathises, and has put together a four-hour, just-about-Christmas-free extravaganza especially for you, dear listener, to give you something very alternative to immerse yourself in this December.
Hidden among the transglobal gems on offer is one of the songs that Leo has almost certainly (at the time of writing) chosen to vote for in this year’s Festive 50. See if you can spot it… You might be surprised...
As a teaser of what Leo has in store for you, here is a tiny sample of the bands in the show: Of One, Wild Classical Music Ensemble, Etran de L'AÏr, Thomas Bangalter, Astrid Sonne and Kassie Krut.
Or how about De Kift, Two Shell, Yemen Blues or The Agronauts? There is so much more besides, so dive in and find out what you might be missing.
Merry Christmas!

Mark Whitby - December 2024
Approaching the end of the year, there's still no let-up in the slew of quality releases dropping into my inbox so, for the last time in 2024, I'm doing what I pretty much did for the rest of it, which is share as many of them as I can with you.
This month we've got tracks from new albums from Alan Sparhawk, Porridge Radio and The Weak & The Strong among others, plus EPs from Committee and Clever Bunny alongside new singles from Ciao Malz, Long Hat Pins and Sasshiya.
There's also a couple of wonderful recent Xmas releases from Swansea Sound and Kena Wenchi to raise a bit of premature seasonal cheer.
In the retrospective corner, we've got a very welcome Charlie Chaplin reissue, an Xmas tune from Hot & Sassy and, of course, this being the month of the festive fifty broadcast, we Peel Back thirty years to delve into some gems from the 1994 chart.

Rocker - December 2024
An hour from Rocker this month, including an exclusive session recorded for the show by Helen McCookerybook, plus new tracks from Sissy Space Echo & The Invisible Collaborators; Plastic Bag; The Reds, Pinks & Purples; Candymouse; and House Of All.
There's new electronica from Emok, Djuma Soundsystem & Olith, remixed by Tayllor. Boyracer take on a reggae classic by Dawn Penn, and there are essential reissues from Helen McCookerybook's former band The Chefs, and The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart.
This month's Rocker's Shellac Attack is a doo-wop classic from 1954 out of New York, while this month's Educating Elizabeth record is a from new record from the frontman of San Francisco's Monophonics.
As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: The Ginger Line is an affectionate name given to the London overground rail system by its users, it is so-named because until 2024 the lines were all printed in orange on official Transport For London maps. This year, for ease of understanding, and to bring them into line with the underground system, the 6 lines which make up the system have been given new names and colours.

Sean Hocking - December 2024
Yes it is the end of the year already and as usual I have 4 hours of fun and surprises for you on Bottom of the Pops to round out 2024.
As it is the festive month I have a couple of Christmas releases from Plymouth based band, Smashing Red just released on Metal Postcard. Also from the label this month we have releases by Reine des Lezards, Oopsie Daisies, Bordellos, Occult Character, Chalice King and what would a show be like without featuring the Neon Kittens!
Favourite newbies this month are all out of the UK Get Down Services, Pink Eye Club, Gravenshurst and the superb Common Saints and their future balearic masterpiece that is their debut.
I revisit a couple of tunes from earlier in the year including out of Australia, Keanu Nelson and a song called Kungka Palyana Nyinanyi, his album released by Mississippi Records is a wonder to behold, and yes another rinse of Indonesia's Senyawa just because I can.
Also tunes by The Jack Cades, Burial, The Uplifting Bell Ends, Wreckless Eric, Skelephant and many more.
Enjoy the show, enjoy Christmas if you do that sort of thing and I Look forward to assaulting your ears again in 2025.

Thomas Blatchford - December 2024
Happy thingy from The Thomas Show who start this month's shenanigans with a year-round evergreen earworm from Helen Love that suddenly has more relevance in December, followed by the first new track in half a decade by Kayo.
Your host lets slip one of their songs voted for in the Festive 50 (spoiler: it’s by Hott Sexx) plus there's plenty of heat from albums of the year by Good Sad Happy Bad, Yam Lynn, Black Pus, King Stingray and more.

East Germany Etcetera - December 2024
This month X-Ray Moon has decided to give a nod to the two anniversaries of, on the one hand the creation of East Germany in 1949, and hence it is their 75th anniversary this year; and on the other hand, it is the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Having lived in Berlin, X-Ray Moon wanted to doff his imaginary Punk hat to the people who he became very fond of, and who made him very welcome in their city and in their former East Germany.
East Germany gets a bad press – some of it merited, possibly a lot of it merited… but what is always forgotten are the positives about the country, the culture and the music… And how, which is often forgotten, they ensured that all Nazis and Fascists after the Second World War were imprisoned for their crimes ... unlike in West Germany where some of them even became part of the post-war West German Government.
X-Ray Moon wanted to celebrate a moment that is important for European history and remind people that the 'Ossies' made good music too (sometimes).
Moon treats us to some Punk, with the likes of Feeling B and Nina Hagen, for example; some Experimental music with, AG Geige, there is also a little East German Jazz, with Manfred-Ludwig Sextett, and there is also some Ska.
Moon thought that with these anniversaries having loomed over the musical horizon, either he made this programme now or not at all.
So then, for one time only X-Ray Moon hopes the listeners enjoy – both in musical terms and as an intriguing gesture towards a country and a culture that no longer exists – EAST GERMANY ETCETERA.
