Andrew Morrison - August 2025
Andy's one-hour August show features new music from The Raveonettes, Sylo, Blood Orange, R. Missing, Pulp, The Horrors, Arab Strap and more, including an inspired take on Sade's best song by shoegazers Deary. You'll also hear a cracking vocal house track by HotLap featuring the excellent Eli Moon, which Andy somehow missed when it came out in May last year.

How about new stuff from Pomona, Las Pink Bats, Moon In June, The Myrrors, Mariin K, La Flemme, Brian Dejacker, Unperro Andaluz, Chini.png, and the aforementioned Adrian Quesada.
We also have a taste of new reissues or archival releases by the likes of Big Flame, Debris', and 86. Oh, and upcoming albums from Osees and Lorelle Meets The Obsolete! Woo-hoo!!

Another featured album this month and it's by the fabulous Sons Of Mu, so many good tracks to whittle down to three for the show! China's Nono is back with a new EP and I'm loving it and I've come across a band new to me called The New Eves who I'm very impressed by. Throwing Snow has created and epic track in collaboration with Daragh Fleming, proper good it is and Dälek do what Dälek do so well. Perhaps the most excited I'm being, though, is over a new bassline artist I've chanced upon, goes by the name of Jenny Sparks, proper.

One Big House - August 2025
August, the month the families go on holiday, the football season starts, the shops start stocking the Christmas goodies. But August 2025 also has a sizzling new show from One Big House!
Late in the month, I'll will be seeking out some new favourite bands at End of the Road festival, but this show contains plenty of bands I've already had the pleasure of seeing like the excellent MadMadMad, the super Sunflower Thieves and the fabulous UNIVERSITY.
LP of the month is from the wonderful The Penrose Web and there's a look back to the "undervalued, underappreciated" The Vaults.
There are also fab new tracks by Peebledash, Marissa Nadler, Soft Bait and Rhode & Brown.
As well as Golomb, Soreab, Lathe of Heaven, Asbestos Salesman and Medisun, Bost & Bim
Two hours of great tunes, so no need for a holiday, sport or Christmas shopping!

Sean Hocking - August 2025
Two hour show this month featuring the likes of Swedemason, neo neos, vale vale vale vale vale (yes that is what they are called), Eddy Current Suppression Ring, NSW outfit Richard in Your Mind and the Mfongozi Guitar Players.
David Byrne has a new album out and what I've heard sounds pretty good.
I've been religiously searching out every track that exists as an edit of Donna Summer's, I Feel Love or samples the track for a future special I'm very slowly putting together. I couldn't resist featuring the I feel love vs INXS I need you tonight mashup. Also in the re-edit vein we've got both The Beatles & Foals lined up for you in this show.
Metal Postcard artist Jean Mignon got played by Iggy on his show last month so I thought that was a good enough reason to remind you how good he is.
Bobby Konders, Mik Artistik and Black Moth Super Rainbow too.
Enjoy the show

X-Ray Moon - August 2025
This month X-Ray Moon's show is a special on the Battle of the Beanfield, which was a devastating confrontation between peace-loving environmentalists anti-racists and anarchists, against the truncheon-wielding aggressive police who attacked this 'peace convoy'.
It was forty years ago this summer that those heading towards Stonehenge for what was an annual free festival to celebrate life, freedom, the planet, music and the solstice were stopped and brutally attacked by Margaret Thatcher's uniformed goons. Why? Because they were free and living their lives in an alternate way; not wishing to live in boxes and conform to the war-mongers' control-freakery.
So, then: On the morning of 1st June 1985, a peaceful convoy of over 600 New Traveller families, artists and musicians travelled towards Stonehenge, to mark and celebrate the summer solstice. As the convoy neared Cholderton, the 140+ vehicles (with many doubling up as homes) were ambushed with a police roadblock 7 miles away from Stonehenge. Over 1300 officers, some equipped with riot gear, surrounded the Traveller families and proceeded to assault people, families, vehicles, and anyone who dared be near the police's reach. After smashing windows, beating people with truncheons and shields, pulling pregnant women from buses, and destroying people's homes, over 537 Travellers were arrested… This is often considered the largest mass arrest since WWII.
Forty years on and there has still never been an inquiry into the events that unfolded that day. For many, the Battle of the Beanfield was a direct result of the Thatcher government choosing to 'make an example' of the Travellers. With the media downplaying the violence and even contributing to it with unrepentant attacks on New Travellers, survivors have been left traumatised, injured, and homeless. To this day, there are people and families whose lives have been irreparably damaged by the actions taken that day, by the police and the authorities.
X-Ray Moon wishes to send his love and respect to those who were doing no harm to anyone, and if anything should be held up as wonderful examples of how to live peaceful non-destructice environmentalist lives.
This is dedicated to all those who were part of the Peace Convoy, and all of those who were part of the 'free festival' scene… This programme is called 'The Beanfield Etcetera'.
