This month's Rocker's Shellac Attack is a 1932 recording out of London, UK, concerning the unusual behaviour of insects of the order Diptera. As well as little known acts, here's a little known fact: Neon Hearts were a punk band from Wolverhampton, UK. They recorded a single session for the John Peel show in 1979. | Sean Hocking - September 2026 In this regular Bottom of the Pops show there's a reasonable amount of new music considering it is the low season for new releases. I'm very taken by Detroit's latest up and comers, Credit Card. I hear early Ministry, Cabaret Voltaire, Death Grips and the spirit of the Prodigy all wrapped up in the sound of motor city (RIP). We have new releases by Holy Tongue, Test Five and The Durrutti Column. I'm also taken by Australian(s), Spike Fuck, who have been quiet for far too long. They have some new songs that somehow combine the worlds of Rowland S Howard & Doo Wop wrapped up in a tropical dissonance that's hard not to become enamoured by. In the oldies section we've got new releases by Tom Waits & Beth Orton, a fun cover of Purple Haze and S.Maharba who I admit I should have paid more attention to at the time.
