On my show this month:
I start the show with a banger from the new Sleaford Mods album which might just be their best yet. There's also some Geordie Jazz from Knats, medieval trap from Zukenee and Spanish cello goodness from Yamila. It's hard to believe that Gnod have been going for 20 years and I have an excellent new track from their excellently named new album Chronicles of Gnowt (Vol 1). This will be the first of three albums from them this year to celebrate their anniversary. Speaking of excellent albums I can't get enough of the new Hen Ogledd album which is gloriously weird and right up my alley. If you haven't heard it yet you are seriously missing out. DISCO! A lot more great new music on this month's show, I feel very privileged to be able to do this on Dandelion Radio and I hope this is the first of many, many more to come.
On the show NEXT month:
Tune in this month to hear which prized 6 inch singles I lost in a house move including one from John Peel's own Dandelion Records label our stations namesake. There is new music from Dog Chocolate, Pizza Hotline and MEMORIALS among others as well as an Aboriginal electronic banger from Crown and Country. Some Reform bashing is the order of the day for KRANTZ, Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq. and Eraserhead. The latter the legend behind the wonderful Microsoft Paint creations of Jim'll Paint It (no relation). The world may be falling apart one oil barrel at a time but at least we have some new music from Stereolab and Meridian Brothers to get us through the tough times. I even manage to squeeze the greatest The Fall track of all time in here using the excuse of a recent Cherry Red Records reissue but which one is it?
Biography:
Like many others I grew up listening to Peel on a little portable radio under my covers at night and it shaped my musical tastes and insomnia forever.
John instilled in me a desire to search for new and unusual sounds that has remained with me until this day.
I have been doing shows on community radio in Australia for the past 10 years and am very excited to be part of the Dandelion team where I hope some of my weird musical tastes will hit similarly weird ear holes.
