On my show this month:
Another paltry one hour show from the boy Jones who is busier than a busy bee on a busy bus. Happily, what the show lacks in duration, it more than makes up for in density as brand new top tunes tumble forth from the likes of Demdike Stare, Orxata Sound System, Marianne Dissard, Jambassa and Tarran the Tailor.
On the show NEXT month:
This month sees an exclusive track from Dilworth, some great demo tracks from the Jahtari label and more of the finest new tunes around including Wooden Veil, Peak, Tarran the Tailor, Technical Drawings, mred, 22tape and Pursuit Grooves. Also featured in an accidental feature about covers by people Matt likes are a young hungry beat combo from Manchester known as 'The Fall' and Chapel Hill's swingingest hipsters, the mighty, mighty 'Archers of Loaf' Enjoy y'all
Biography:
Since buying a mint copy of 'Icky Mettle' by the peerless Peel Session guests, 'Archers of Loaf' at the age of 14, I have dedicated quite a significant amount of my life listening to records that most other people either have little interest in or don't like. Besides doing stuff in real life, like breathing and deciding what not to wear, I have been running my own unsigned music podcast for the last two years (see my homepage) which has brought me an inordinate amount of pleasure.
Other than that, I like inventing television shows with rhyming names, taking pictures of broken stuff and listening to cricket on the radio at night.
I'm really interested in music of all shapes and sizes, but especially would like to hear some new unsigned stuff from the far flung corners of the world. I hope my show does bring someone, somewhere, some sort of pleasure.
